Cars To Get Internet-Enabled
A recent European survey, conducted by KPMG which interviewed 200 car company executives, has found that Internet access while you’re inside your car is fast becoming a new reality.
Spearheading the charge, Toyota has entered into a partnership with IT powerhouse, Intel while Audi has developed a built-in 3G wireless in its A7 that it will extend to other new models.
While 37% of the executives surveyed believe infotainment in cars is nearly as important as car safety, 53% also thought hybrid vehicles would get the most investment, and 61% thought developments in normal petrol and diesel engines will still be attractive offering consumers greater efficiency and CO2 reduction.
